Viennice Waltz - Primer

The Viennice Waltz is an adaptation of the ballroom dance genre the Viennese Waltz for ice skates. Principally, it entails a dance pair in a traditional Viennese Waltz hold, rotating about each other. The pair may also travel about the rink--usually in a circuit following the current direction of skating--and engage in improvised syncopations (temporary break/variation steps) if their skill level so allows.

The upper body stances and flairs (hold, position, stylistic gestures) mimic those of the Viennese Waltz, while the lower body movements (steps, etc.) are entirely improvised: everything and anything necessary to stay aloft and produce the rotation and travel.

Since the Viennice Waltz is danced on ice skates there are no foot steps; as such it can be danced to music of any measure and tempo.

Self-Inflicted Participation

A modus operandi (way of doing things) whereby individuals involve themselves in a communal activity or group by offering ideas, contributing resources, or otherwise injecting influence of their own volition and by their own willful actions. It is predicated on the notion that people who choose a course of action are unlikely to complain about or be defeated by obstacles and disappointments. People who participate unsolicitedly tend also to be more capable than average, and usually provide a net positive contribution. As such S.I.P. is suited for vanguard initiatives, start-up projects, and any endeavor wherein you alone are the agent of your own good times.

With S.I.P. projects generally there will be no gestures of invitation (e.g. solicitation, electronic invitations, etc.) Oftentimes there is no central authority, governance, nor management from which for such invitations to come. This also means often participants must be so-called self-starters, i.e. be able to identify and digest the concept(s) and end goal(s) of the project and figure out logistics as needed on their own or with less than hand-holding guidance.

Self-infliction does not mean no assistance or no cooperation. By the very nature of groups and communal activities, participants should interact, support others, and ask for/accept assistance. Often it is only the desire and willingness to participate that needs to be self-inficted, with other tangible tasks being selected or assigned by others. People participating in this manner should make their availability explicitly known to others.

Coordinated Crowdsource Protocol

CCP is a  way to supply group events that distributes the burden of buying and bringing the supplies, and centralizes the planning. It can be thought of as similar to the Pot-Luck Protocol, except with more direction and administration.

M.O.:
1. Coordinator(s) create a master list of suggested and preferred supplies.

2. Coordinator(s) share the list with participants.
Ideally this will be via some convenient interactive system such as social media.

3. Participants volunteer to bring items.
A process known as "calling." Called items can be either from the list or write-ins.
This allows people to bring items that are easy for them or that they already have.

4. Coordinator(s) assign remaining items as needed.
Assignments can be given to late-committers who want to know what to bring.

ImFormal

Impressionist Formal, or Imformal, is a dress code used especially for underground or so-called "guerrilla" events, such as the guerrilla balls series. It requires attire and accessories that project the impression of formality--or extra formality--to the public eye, or incorporates exuberance derived from traditional formal dress. This includes standard White Tie (colloquially: "top-and-tails/ballgown",) Black Tie ("tux/evening gown",) and some extravagant versions of Formal ("suit-and-tie/evening dress".) It may also include variations such as non-western traditional, military, and period garb, caricature, couture, etc. as long as it appears to the observer to have aesthetic integrity (i.e. it looks good.)

It is context dependent, such that the adopter (or group) should be distinguishable from the norm or default the by their degree of projected formality, extravagance, or exoticism
